hey there, i'm julien! i'm a texas-based multimedia artist who specializes in character design, digital illustration, and 3D modeling. i have a bachelor's degree in digital media studies.

while i am capable of working in a wide variety of styles, in my current work i favor representing designs with fun stylization and shape language.

What determines the complexity of a model?
• A model's complexity is determined based on how many elements there are to its outfit (additional layers, accessories, etc), anatomy (hair, wings, tails, body shape, etc), and/or texture (decals, fur patterns, etc).


interested in a commission?

‧ 。˚ important °。‧

• i will not take on commissions that involve derogatory/abusive or explicit nsfw imagery. designs for TU models in particular must follow the in-game guidelines on suggestive content. see the clarification for tu's terms here.• at least one non-wip full-body (preferably turnaround) reference of your character, any desired props, and outfit (if different from main ref) is required! i will likely not take on comms whose refs are incomplete, require me to perform significant character/outfit/prop design, or modify the design to suit a 3d version. granting creative freedom on existing details is fine however!• my models are made to mostly, if not entirely, resemble the reference you provide. if you send multiple refs in different styles, specify which style you'd like me to use!• the higher resolution of a reference image, the better! it is best if all details are clear enough to identify when zoomed in. if they are too low-res, i may request additional images or descriptions.


‧ 。˚ terms °。‧

  1. • payments are flexible - they can be made upfront or on an agreed progress-based plan. clients must pay with paypal through an invoice that i provide.
  2. • if there are multiple payments, the final payment must be sent before all project files are delivered.
  1. • i will provide progress images or 3d previews at significant points to make sure the model meets your expectations. feel free to let me know of any changes that can be made at these points, and be honest - i will do my best to correct it before i continue.
  2. • do keep in mind that if you want to make major changes close to completion or after approving prior progress, then there may be additional expenses.
  1. • depending on my schedule, the complexity of each model, and the number of people in the queue, please expect up to 3 months of queue wait time and 2 weeks-2 months of work time. some models get completed quickly! if your commission is highly detailed, the waiting time may be on the longer end.
  2. • i will open 3 slots at a time, applicants chosen by preference from a form. 2 remaining applicants will be invited to my waitlist. joining the waitlist means that i'll reach out to you for a slot once i'm ready to take more on.
  3. • time in the waitlist does not include the queue wait time and may extend longer than 3 months. it's a long process, so please only apply if you're fine with the wait! you can keep an eye on my progress on trello in the meantime. thanks in advance for your patience!
  1. • i permit clients to share their models on social media, use their models commercially (via content creation), make alterations to it, and port it to other platforms as long as explicit/easy to find credit is given (preferably with my twitter @holosynth tagged or my website linked!).
  2. • clients may not resell the model or assets/files from it.
  3. • my work may not be used to train ai or be used in blockchain-related technology such as nfts or cryptocurrency.
  1. • if you or i need to cancel the commission, i will provide a partial refund via paypal based on the percentage of progress completed. refunds are valid up to 50% completion. anything past this point is not viable for a refund.
  2. • i reserve the right to refuse/cancel a commission for any reason.
